2010 Year End Season Recap - Middle School

The Upper Perk Middle School football team started strong…and finished strong in 2010.  The team of 7th and 8th graders opened with three straight wins, including a 20-0 season opening shutout of Pottsgrove!  The Tribe Middle Schoolers then suffered three straight narrow defeats.  The team was very competitive in each game; with the outcomes not being determined until the final minutes of each game.

 The squad saved it’s best for last, however.  Under the lights at Tribe Stadium, UPMS dispatched Pottstown 20-6, playing their best game of the season, to finish the year at 4-3.  Head coach Tom Hontz said “Coach Zimpfer and I were pleasantly suprised this year, this is a group of hard working kids, that should be a big asset to the High School program.”
